Coach Thomas Tuchel-who has just been dismissed by the PSG club, has shown interest in sitting in Chelsea’s “hot seat” if the London squad is fired by Frank Lampard.
However, according to Bild on December 29, the German strategist did not want to take a long break after leaving the PSG. In specific, Tuchel would open the door to talks if Chelsea makes an offer to replace Seveso.
According to the British press, the place in Chelsea is still assured thanks to the patronage of the Russian billionaire boss. However, the chair of the former England player has been heated up in recent games where Chelsea has not had a satisfying result.
Most recently, the 1-1 draw against Aston Villa at home took Chelsea (26 points) to sixth position, 6 points behind Liverpool’s top team but played more than 1 match. This finding is perceived to be insufficient, since more than 200 million pounds have been spent on the purchasing of recruits in a tough economic environment, including 2 German stars Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.
In addition to Chelsea, Tuchel is also reportedly linked to the Arsenal club. Coach Mikel Arteta is still under scrutiny at the Emirate Stadium, amid a recent win over Chelsea. However, the “Gunners” are still in 15th place in the Premier League standings with just 17 points after 15 rounds.
Previously, Tuchel guided Borussia Dortmund, renowned for his ideology of attacking football. Last season, Tuchel helped PSG reach the final of the Champions League, but lost to Bayern Munich.
On December 29, the PSG club publicly announced the dismissal of Tuchel, who led the Paris Capital Team to 127 wins, won 95 games, 12 draws and 20 defeats, won 2 Ligue 1 championships (2019, 2020) as well as this year’s League Cup and French National Cup. Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is thought to be most likely to be chosen to replace Tuchel with PSG.
